The “Around-The-Islands” races began at the north end of Tupper Lake, then taking a route southwest passing through the channel between Bluff and County Line Islands and back. It is a novelty to competitive course sailors since it offers a different challenge to skippers’ tactical decision-making, whether to go clockwise or counter-clockwise, and whether to go between Birch and Burnt Islands or around both. “There is no other Regatta that offers such a route nor such a beautiful woodsy and craggy view” “That’s why we love it”. said Richards. |
